i think there are two different specs that are called cor-ten. astm a588 is one, i believe, but don't recall the second. it may have been a plate/ sheet difference.
there should be some useful info on this previous post of mine:
took some googling around, but it seems a588 gr. a is the cor-ten b, which is a plate spec. cor-ten a is a sheet spec, and is a242 type 1. i also find a reference to a606 type 4 as cor ten a.
