efthymiou parametric scfs
efthymiou parametric scfs
i'm calculating hot-spot stresses at a tubular connection for input to a fatigue analysis. the efthymiou parametric equations provide scfs relating nominal stress in the brace to hot-spot stress in the chord. however there is also a large axial force in the chord. the stresses in the brace are unaffected by this force and therefore the hot-spot stresses calculated as above do not take this into account. do i add the nominal axial stress in the chord to the chord hot-spot stresses or are these stresses not acting in the same direction? thanks for any help. cheers, robert check out our whitepaper library. anyone :-( |
