filling an existing cmu wall
filling an existing cmu wall
i have an existing hollow cmu foundation wall with a substantial point load bearing on it. i want to fill the cores of the wall solid at these locations, but it's in a crawlspace, and there are many locations. i am aware of injecting on concrete to repair cracks, but is there anything similar to this that will fill in the cores solid without damaging the existing cmu's? thanks find a job or post a job opening can you get access to the wall? yon can remove a face shell at locations to be filled.. yes, you can access it through a crawl space. the contractor was trying to avoid installing temp posting in the finished 1st floor while he broke open the blocks. i was looking to find some sort of epoxy that could be pumped in a couple of 1"-2" holes in each core. why can't you use a "pea gravel" (3/8" stone) mix and pump it into the cores through a 2" diameter hole with a standard grout pump? for cmu foundation frost walls, is it normally required to fill all cells below grade with grout in a cold climate? sorry, i meant my post to be a new thread. please ignore this post! |
