shear capacity of wood i-joists with web holes
hello,
i am working on a degree project involving the shear capacity of wood i-joists with web holes. i am trying to find a mathematical model to calculate the joist shear capacity. as far as i know, currently the industry bases shear capacity on testing alone. does anybody know a way to model a wood i-joist (such as a vierendeel analysis) to calculate the shear capacity? does anyone know of any papers or journals that have been written on this subject?
