ubc/aci earth quake strength design
aci-318-08/ubc load combination states 1.2d+1.0e where e = earthquake load ubc 97 section 1630 states e= p eh + ev, em= omega eh, where eh = base shear v. my question is 1. does staad, sap consider this equations when doing auto generation for load combination. because i checked staad for seismic on self wt and it used the e = v, which by above equations is not right. i assume software is doing it right and i am not looking it correctly .. so if any one can explain .... please do. 2. what are the conditions (if any ) in which i can take e= v? p= 2-20/rmax*sqrt(ab) say i am designing a pipe rack or an equipment structure, what shall i use in ab? there is no slab element... can any one help me out here?... and explain how this works |
