api for pdmwe to get the custom properties
hello,
i would like to know if it's possible to get the custom properties from a part with api, without opening it but getting its properties from pdmwe directly.
when clicking right on a part in pdmwe, i can see the custom properties so there is certainly a way to automate it with api...but how to proceed?

for pdmwe, the interface for a variable (what you see on your file cards) value is called iedmvariablevalue5. you will first need to get access to the specific file, then you could use the following code sample from the pdmworks enterprise api help. this example shows the value of a variable named "title".

hi,
i'm trying to access a custom property using the code below (c#) but the datacarddrawingnumber object is always returned as null. i have also tried with other properties and it never returns a value. am i missing a step here?
iedmfolder5 folder = _vault.rootfolder;
iedmfile5 file = _vault.getfilefrompath(slddrwresult.path, out folder);
iedmenumeratorvariable5 filevariables = file.getenumeratorvariable("");

the problem appears to be with the getenumeratorvariable function returning an empty object. i am able to get other values from the file object e.g. file.currentrevision without any problems.
