export or copy detail views
is it possible in solidworks 2008 to export or copy a dimensioned detail view from one part drawing to another (different) part drawing (in this case extruded aluminum profiles) when the dimensioned detail is identical on several parts?

not directly, but you could "save as" the drawing a jpeg and then crop and insert the detail view as an image into the new sheet.

yes, save as copy existing drawing...give new drawing number.
close, then reopen, change referenced part to new part.
