free dumping of material
hello, i was wondering if we can emulate dumping sand or rocks in a hopper using solidworks. is that possible ? regards you might be able to do it with physical simulation... jeff mirisola, cswp, certified driveworks ae for particle animation use 3d studio max solidworks is animating mechanisms hardly, i think no body tries to do a particle animation. hello, what interests me more is to find the volume by dumping 200 m^3 of rocks for example in a hopper, and find if this dimensions i have for the hopper will be enough or i may need bigger or smaller hopper, more than the animated part. regards you may be able to use physical simulation, but depending on your system it may require more ram/etc and more training on sw physical simulations. i agree to use 3d studio max, it is what i would use. it imports sw models also. chris solidworks/pdmworks 08 3.1 autocad 08 can you give me any key about the physical simulation, i can read more about it but i never used it. i will try 3d max later but i dont have it on my machine, so that will take sometime. thanks for your help. what is the aggregate size of your dumped product? i guess it doesn't matter. if you already know you need to contain 200 cubic meters, you should be able to model an appropriate container. i would use the cavity feature to simulate the area of your 200 cubic meter load, then adjust the size of the hopper accordingly.
