ghost image stays on screen after opening part, pull down me
for some reason, when i open a part, or go to a pull down menu to select an item, i get a ghost image that just stays on the screen as shown by the attached screen shot-ghost image is the blue box that says list.
has anyone seen this or know how to fix it? also the image varies, its not always this blue box, sometimes if i go to file then open, the open item line will stay up, etc...basically the ghost image varies and the only way to get rid of it is to reboot. also if i close all windows it even stays on the desktop as shown by the second image.
running 07 sp 3.1
my computer is a mobile workstation from hp with xp
nvidia quadro fx 1500m.
2gb ram 80gb hd

safe bet would be that it's a video card issue. check to make sure the driver and the card are up to snuff with sw standards.

i've seen it a couple of times. i went against the grain and updated to the most recent vc drivers (not the most recent sw approved drivers mind you) and that seemed to fix it. i still see it on ultra rare occasions, but it's nothing that a restart hasn't fixed.

does this problem occur if only solidworks is running? you have two instances of internet running, try closing one or both and try it. if not the video card, you may be having conflicts with applications.

i had the same problem and just like dekkerdesign, i updated the video card drivers and it fixed it. even though the nvidia quadro card drivers were not sw certified, everything has been working problem free.
