sorry another bom question
is there a function that will allow me to extract a bom from an assembly? basically i have many complex assemblies(the manufactured parts all have a manufacturing drawing)i have not yet created drawings for them, and to be honest i may not due to time constraints, i do however need to rip the parts lists out. any thoughts, or do i have no choice other than creating drawings for my assemblies? thanks james james, we use a macro written by lenny kikstra and available for download from his site called assemblybom. this should get you what you want. sw2009 has introduced his ability. excellent, that first link and just what i was after! many thanks i'm off to sw2009 lunch tomorrow, so i'll check that option too. james right-click your bom table in the drawing, save as> excel file. this capability has been around a long time, at least since sw01.
