adt direct in commercial app?
adt direct in commercial app?
we are releasing our application this coming may and would like to include support for adt objects. will adt direct be ready for commercial use? what's the expected release schedule?

next version of adtdirect (0.6) will be released right after dd1.13.
it will not be "1.0" because it doesn't have full support for
rendering and modification for all types adt objects.
during the upcoming months it will be improved greatly,
but it won't have all functionality of original adt.
data access (reading of object and entity properties, but not modifying) is currently implemented completely.
(with minor exceptions).
we expect that rendering support will be completed by may.
the entity modifiction support will not be completely finished by may, but the main functionality will be present

rendering support will be sufficient for our use. i'm interested in understanding what rendering limitations you expect when compared to adt?

it is highly possible that by may we won't be able to
implement rendering for aec dimension and schedule table entity types.
also we have a list of problematic rendering features, which are still to be implemented.
