exception using dwgdirect for displaying dxf-file
i've wrote a tool for displaying and testing dxf and dwg files. first i've did that using the toolkit / viewkit version 2.010.
today i'm trying to re-code these program using the new dwgdirect 1.08 and i've now entered the testing area.
so one of my sample testing files is a test.dxf, which contains a single tube.
now lets face the problem ....
1. my orginal software based onto toolkit/viewkit 2.010 works fine. the result is ok !
2. loading the file in autocad shows no problems.
3. loading the file in voloview shows no problems.
4. my new software based onto dwgdirect 1.08 shows some asserts and exceptions. i'm not able to load that file.
5. loading the dxf in the dwgdirect1.08-odamfcapp-example shows some erros and exceptions. the odamfcapp is unable to load that file !
6. dconvertwin.exe can load the dxf and convert it to a dwg without any problems.
using that dwg file (instead of the dxf) there is no problem with the new dwgdirect1.08 based software. not in the odamfcapp ... and not in my new software version.
has anybody an idea, why the dwgdirect does not like that file ?
and may be how to solve the problem ?
i've attached the dxf file to this message (size is only 19kb).

the file is incorrect. it's of r12 version but contains 100 group codes (subclass markers) in appid table:

acdbsymboltable
we'll fix reading such files in next release.

but just to point onto one aspect of my question ...
the dwgdirect 1.08 loading of dxf applies the format specifications a bit stricter than the "older" toolkit 2.010 version ?
or the way: the toolkit treats incoming dxf/dwg files a bit more tolerant ?

in this specific situation (group codes 100 in r12 files) dwgdirect appeared to be "less stable to incorrect data".
i already fixed it.
