memory problem with resbuf chains
memory problem with resbuf chains
hi,
i am trying to read dwg files with xrecords which contain several mb of extended data. i noticed that when i get the resbuf chain with the following command
odresbufptr odresbufptr = pxrecord->rbchain();
the program allocates memory twice of the file size. when this memory is released (e.g. with odresbufptr = null; ) it takes a lot of time until this process has finished.
is there a way to
- avoid the huge memory allocation?
- speed up the memory deallocation?
torsten
rbchain() is inefficient method for accesing large xrecord data because it allocates a list of resbufs copying data to it.
more efficient way is using xrecorditerator but it is not implemented yet. it will be ready by 1.10 maintenance release planned for next week.

that sounds good - thanks for the answer!
