hello,
in converting some dwgs to pdf, i occasionally get a pdf error 10004 "database hasn't specified layout name".
what causes this error and are there any work arounds?

cpdfexportimpl::init failed (cpdfexportimpl.cpp). it means that pdfexportparams.pageparams is not empty, and pdfexportparams.pdb database hasn't layout with specified in pdfexportparams.pageparams name.
