hi there,
i mentioned that readfile and writefile are too slow on both mac intel and mac ppc - 5+ mb dwg files take long long time to be read or written.
i built a sample xcode app on mac (default xcode project settings), using the original example code for reading dwgs (odreadex) and added the code for auditing and writing already read database to a new dwg. i linked to the next ub libs from the opendesign (dwgdirect 1.14.02):

then i started my application and tried to read file stadium plan.dwg, which is from autocad 2004 sample folder and to write it back as a dwg version 2000 - it took ~ 6 min (macos 10.4.6, 1.66ghz intel core duo, 1gb) and more than a half of hour (macos 10.4.6, 800mhz powerpc g4, 512mb). and this does not seem to be a file-specific - other dwgs 5+ mb show the same behaviour.
does anyone else see this? or i am missing something...
