truecolor help
ok i am trying to get the truecolor to display properly in a "inhouse viewer" for dwg files that have true color. i am using the "same" code as what is in the help files
sample code
const odgisubentitytraitsdata& currtraits = drawcontext()->effectivetraits();
if(currtraits.truecolor().isbycolor())
{
// draw_color_index(currtraits.color());
draw_color(odrgb(currtraits.truecolor().red(), currtraits.truecolor().green(),
currtraits.truecolor().blue()));
}
else
{
draw_color_index(currtraits.color());
}
end of sample code
cant attach the file but it is the "colorwh.dwg" that comes in the samples of autocad 2004
in the viewer we see either all white (if the code is as is above) or we get to see all really dark blue (rgb 0,0,7) if i put same code in the else than in the if. is there something not right in the code? we are using dwgdirect 1.10 with vc++ 6.0 as a dll that is called from a delphi exe
be sure to pass true color to draw_color() method in the same manner as it expects. it depends on your device implementation.
from examples/exrender/win/exgigdigeometry.cpp:
code:
//implementation of class exgdivectorizeview
//*******************************************************************************/
// setcurrtraitstodevice()
//*******************************************************************************/
void exgigdigeometry::setcurrenttraits()
{
const odgisubentitytraitsdata& currtraits = drawcontext()->effectivetraits();
if(currtraits.visibility())
{
m_bfillon = (currtraits.filltype()==kodgifillalways);
if(currtraits.truecolor().isbycolor())
{
draw_color(odtocolorref(currtraits.truecolor()));
}
else
{
draw_color_index(currtraits.color());
}
if(!m_bpenvalid || m_curlineweight!=currtraits.lineweightpix())
{
m_curlineweight = currtraits.lineweightpix();
m_logpen.lopnwidth.x = m_curlineweight;
::deleteobject(::selectobject(m_htargetdc, ::createpenindirect(&m_logpen)));
m_bpenvalid = true;
}
if(!m_bbrushvalid)
{
#ifndef _win32_wce
::deleteobject(::selectobject(m_htargetdc, ::createbrushindirect(&m_logbrush)));
#endif
m_bbrushvalid = true;
}
}
}

thx a lot, the true colors show at last instead of the dreaded white i used the way of doing it that was present in the documentation instead of examples in the sample files... thanks again
update
removed the update because the problem was in autovue (the viewer i was using to tell which color was where) i got my hands on autocad 2004 so i installed it and the colors in acad 2004 and the open dwg true color match...
update 2
there is another sample in autocad 2004 that is interesting, hummer elevation.dwg, the greenish panels on the bottom view and the windows in the first are changing tone going left/right or top/down, is there a special function to do that type of truecolor display or is it done by the same function?
