what is glossfactor?
what is glossfactor?
odgimaterial::specular has three parameters, a material color, material map, and a gloss factor.
i assume the gloss factor is different from the factor associated with the material color. is that correct?
does the value have a range (i.e. 0 to 1) and if so do bigger numbers yield glossier surfaces?
is this what is sometimes called a specular exponent?
is the value related to "specular level" (0-999) or "glossiness" (0-100) in 3d max?

what is glossfactor?
yes, glossfactor and specular exponent is the same concept. in odgimaterial stored value in the range from 0 to 100. in 3dsmax value "specular level" is the same as glossfactor, except range, but "glossiness" - is the level of transparency of the material ("opacity" in acad (opacity - is the inverted transparency)).
