included angle
does anyone use the expression "included angle" or "included" on drawings when describing angles?
check out our whitepaper library.
if i am not wrong ..is that the one we call step angle in autocad??..& in other words is it increment angle??? i am not sure....

included angle would be the total angle of a countersink. i.e. 100deg for use with a 100deg flat head screw. also the angle on the screw could be described as and included angle. i have seen the term used in describing a countersink in a note.

thank you for your help. there was a half angle on a drawing and it had the note included below it. it was intended to imply the full angle. may of us were not familiar with this term.

i have used "included" in several locations.
sometimes just to eliminate potential abiguity, to ensure i got the right angle or taper.
in molded or cast parts, where you have to watch wall thickness build up on drafted surfaces, i always call out the "included" draft angle on free standing features such as bosses and ribs.
