do-160 sand test : criteria for compliance ?
do-160e sand test states that "mechanical moving features of the equipment can be manipulated ten times... " after the test to check for cloggin or binding.
can this instruction also be applied to fans, which are moving features inside the product ? those fans can be manipulated by poking thru' the air outlet holes, but are not accessible as such from the outside.
your experience ?
the vane-axial fans we use are subjected to qualification testing per mil-std-810, method 510; environmental engineering considerations and laboratory testing. we have several different types of fans installed on our platform and this is the requirement (among others) specified by our customer.
