默认 basketball hoop loading

basketball hoop loading
i am designing a gymnasium and i was wondering if there is a standard load (applied at the hoop) one would use for design of the anchors which fasten the basketball back-board to the gym wall?
i'd imagine a pretty large guy doing a slam dunk would generate a half decent amount of force, but is that a force that is covered by any codes?
check out our whitepaper library.
karlit,
i would suggest consulting the goal manufacturer to obtain the design loads. the support system will vary among models and manufacturers. this type of loading is not governed by any particular code as it is not a building or structure. that has been my approach for the gymnasium designs in the past and for the most part, the manufacturers have been extremely helpful. good luck.
i have used motor's approach as well. also, don't forget about any gym divider curtains or wrestling mat hoists if they are required by the architect.
i know they changed the loading and the design to be shaq proof! he broke so many when he entered the nba.
thanks guys!
i have got in touch with the manufacturer and he is looking into it for me.
