british sci floor vibe design guide loads question
hopefully someone from across the pond can help with this question. it's with regard to the 2007 sci design guide: floor vibrations, a new approach.
table 3.1 gives the design fourier coefficients for walking. presumably, these come from the measurements by kerr and some others, as shown by willford and colleagues in their 2006 and 2007 papers.
in table 3.1, shouldn't fp be h*fp where h = the harmonic number and fp = the pacing frequency? in their current forms, the equations give forces that seem very low for the 3rd and 4th harmonics. the first harmonic, of course, has h=1 and the second harmonic regression line is flatter, so doesn't seem very severely affected. with h*fp, the 3rd and 4th harmonic loads are similar to fig. 1 of the 2007 willford et al. paper.
