默认 building corners per asce 7

building corners per asce 7
what should be considered a building corner per asce 7-02? i assume this is for "prominent" building corners only but does this come down to just judgement?
do you mean corner zones like in fig 6-11b?
yes! many buildings that we do, don't just have 4 corners and are perfectly rectangular! what about the various ins and outs that create additional building corners?
i don't know that is a good question, depending on how many ins and outs it sounds like it could be defined as an irregular shaped building and the figures are not really applicable.
"method 2—Analytical procedure
6.5.1 scope. a building or other structure whose design
wind loads are determined in accordance with this section
shall meet all of the following conditions:
1. the building or other structure is a regular shaped building or structure as defined in section 6.2...."
"regular shaped buildings and other
structures. defining the limits of applicability of
the analytical procedures within the standard is a difficult
process, requiring a balance between the practical
need to use the provisions past the range for which data
has been obtained and restricting use of the provisions
past the range of realistic application. wind load provisions are based primarily on wind-tunnel tests on shapes shown in figures 6-6 through 6-17."
when things are steep, remember to stay level-headed.
