clay brick lattice screen wall design
does anyone know how to design a brick screen wall that is erected with lattice configuration (i.e. the wall is roughly 25% open due to the brick layout. or have any reference material that would help.
is every other course continuous? or is each course interupted?
every course is interupted.
try it as unreinforced.
i think you would have to consider a two course strip spanning horiz. and acting as series of moment connections. convert the moment into a stress and make sure it doesn't exceed the allowable shear stress in the mortar. i doubt it would span more than 6 to 9 feet depending on the wind load. i had a similar condition recently and i could not find any information on how to design. let me know if you find any references on how to design.
