definition of a prismatic member
what makes a prismatic? it appears that perhaps this means "not tapered" but i'm not sure about that.

ok, after hunting through several books i think i found the answer ==> prismatic = constant cross-section.
a "prismatic" beam is a beam with constant ei across its span. also prismatic cross section is "a cross section that is symmetrical and is constant".
