默认 gymanastic ring design loads osha fall restraint 2,250 lbs

gymanastic ring design loads? osha fall restraint 2,250 lbs?
where would i find the correct design loads for gymnastics rings? i'm assuming that the maximum weight of the gymnast is 500 lbs. per ring, does this seem reasonable? the problem i'm having is that osha requires 2,250 lbs for a fall restraint. however this is not a fall restraint type of design. besides this is in an area that if the person did fall it would be only about 5 feet above the ground. is the osha standard to excessive for this situation and would it apply in this situation? thanks
check out our whitepaper library.
i take it that this question is because you have to support somy gymnastics apparatus from structure. contact a gymnastics ring supplier. the ropes have to have some kind of rating. matching the rating of the rope or a little higher would be the place to start.
i'm not sure what "fall restraint" you're referring to... osha 1910.66 stipulates anchors that are used for fall restraint systems must be capable of sustaining 5 kips. this 5 kip fall restraint force is based on a six foot fall.
ok, would the support for the rings fall under osha 1910.66? this is not used for fall restraint and never will be at any time. only to support the weight of one man performing on the rings.

this may shed some light?
i would not think osha would have any governance in this case. however, if you can find a technical guide about designing for impact at anchor points, that would aid in your design.
i second contacting the manufacturer of the system to be installed in the building. if the exact manufacturer cannot be determined at this point in the project, contact a range of manufacturers and look at their data, surely they will have some ratings and requirements.
good luck,
daniel
