默认 how to design a skewed column

how to design a skewed column
well, my architect is at it again! in his "design" he's proposing the use of timber columns that are angled about 25 degrees from vertical to support a large portion of a roof. where do you even start that sort of analysis? have you seen it done?
i have shear walls throughout the rest of the diaphragm and think any horizontal components generated by the angled column could be resisted.
analyze as a beam column. bending and compression.
analyse in your modeling software (spacegass, microstran etc)
if the column has pinned ends, it is purely a compression strut and can be designed as if it were vertical (ok, a bit of self weight bending). but the end connections have to be resolved into horizontal and vertical components, so the top horizontal component has to be developed into the structure and the bottom horizontal component has to be taken by the footing.
