默认 irregular beam shape design

irregular beam shape design
i am designing a structural steel mullion for a mausoleum that will be infilled with mosaic glass specially made by an artist. the mullions consist of 4 vertical members, 24' in height. the vertical members span from a floor slab to a horizontal beam above. the horizontal beam is continuous, but the beam projects at 45 degrees beginning 5' from the left support to form a gable with a peak at the mid-span. the beam projects back down at 45 degrees to 5' from the right support. i am concerned about horizontal deflection in the irregular shaped beam. the design is similar to a curved beam design. i am looking for design examples to have something to hang the hat on, but am not finding anything. has anyone encountered something similar?
thank you
check out our whitepaper library.
this sounds like a pretty simple torsion problem. any decent book on torsion should be able to give you a way of calculating the torsional deflection, then you just add this to the beam deflection to get the total.
