默认 nds table 11k question

nds table 11k question
i have 1/2" dia lag screws going through a 3/16" plate into a beam and i am trying to determine the shear strength of the screws.
nds table 11k only gives values for my plate thickness up to a 3/8" dia screw. do i use that value even though my screw dia is larger?
it would be conservative to do that. you could also calc out the value using the yield mode equations given in the nds.
the american wood council has a great on-line connection calculator at:
i've checked the output to hand calculations for three different cases (for all 6 yield modes) and i always get the same answer within a percent or 2. it is a huge timesaver.
that is a huge time saver.. those mode equations are very tedious, thanks jim!
