v-beam
existing 1936 floor framing specifies the following:
"4-14 v-beam at 2'-0" oc"
i need to have this floor system support new moveable partitions. i will need to reinforce this existing v-beam structure. i believe these v-beams to be open-web steel joists. but, the 60-year sji manual does not recognize a v-beam that i can see. i need to determine the sx and ix of these. if i must, i'll assume l1x1x1/8 t&b flanges. but, i'd rather not make assumptions.
can anyone help?
