weight of vines / vegetation
hi,
i'm designing a small structure to support climbing vines.
does anyone know of a reference for such loads??
check out our whitepaper library.
wind loads might control
about 5 years ago, i designed a "canopy" that was essentially a trellis where vines were planned to grow on the ends and across the top of it for shade and cover. i did not find any reference for recommended loads. i used 5 psf gravity for the vines plus the trellis material self-weight. also, i included a snow load and checked wind load.
