默认 wood deck for park bridge question

wood deck for park bridge question
i have been asked to design the wood decking for a old steel truss bridge that used to have a concrete deck. the steel stringers are 4'-0" o/c and they want to support a h20 load. what are references for wood design for this? simple 6x6 posts laid side by side is not going to make it.
also, i have heard of using nail laminated tongue and groove decking but i have never seen any design examples of this. are there references out there for this?
check out our whitepaper library.
you might try these:
since the dead weight has reduced significantly, why not to add
have you looked at chapter 3 of aashto (standard specifications not the lrfd version)which provides guidance on the distribution of wheel loads and tire contact pressure?
glu-lam is commonly used for decking.
here's some info on glu lam decks
berniedog, my name is eric lincoln and i do spec writing for timber projects for apt (american pole and timber). typically when we have high stuctural needs for bridge decking we will go to glue laminate panels which have been treated prior to lamination. these panels work well for both eng (high stregth) and contractors (go down easy). these panels can be designed to meet just about any load requirements as they are manufactured per the spec.
here are some references.
here is the 2nd one.
thank you all
