help required - mating
ok,
i have created a subroutine that will insert a part into an assembly and mate the part to the fixed part in the assembly (three sets of coincident mates to planes). i have created another subroutine that calls this procedure in a loop so that i can build my assembly.
the problem i have is that after inserting the first part, the second part i insert i get the an overdefined problem between the second part and the fixed part. i to see what's wrong manually go into the model suppress the mate causing the problem and then un-suppress the mate and the parts mate without a problem. why am i getting this error when manually this is not an issue? plus when constraining a part with planes you need to have three orthogonal plane mates in order to fullly constrain the part.
