did you know ram advanse is now called ram elements?
i never understood why they misspelled "advance".
looks like they finally realised some people were not considering their software because they couldn't spell.

i saw a fellow try to do the following. he's been using advanse for a couple of years, but granted, that doesn't mean he wouldn't overlook something.
he had a 600' long truss and it had the same truss panel repeated about 100 times. (don't ask--long story, lol) in sap, i would create one of those with all the right properties and then replicate it, joint restraints, loads and all, 100 times in about 20-30 sec. the only way he knew to do this in advanse was to copy the nodes and then click and draw each element individually. at that point, he could highlight and do things in groups. this took at least 15 min. is there no better way than this?

in ram you have to apply the loads separately. you can however as you say copy the nodes and rotate them around and then connect them all together but i think you have to model 1/2 the truss first and flip it over and bring it back together. that would of saved some time on modeling the panel points. the ram program has many truss templates you can use but i don't think it would work for your 100 panel scenario. their tech support is great and every time i have called them they have helped me.

ram advanse has a tool to copy elements inclusnig their properties, sections, material, ....etc. this tool is under
tools-data generation-copy structure.
