best way to release macros
since taking the solidworks api class i have written about a half dozen macros for fellow employees. some are as simple as printing all drawings on the screen to large user interface enhancements.
these are all currently written in the solidworks vb editor so i can't push them out as an add-in. what is the best way to release these to the other designers.
currently i have all the released copies on a network drive and solidworks is pointed to that directory in the system options-file locations.
the problem is that i can not add keyboard short cuts or menu items for the macros in this directory.
ideally i would want these "released" files to be stored on the network and then have menu items added to each person machine. that would allow me to make updates without the users even knowing there was a change.
i have a similar situation. what i ended up doing was customizing the macro toolbar on my machine with icons that pointed to the macros on the network (unc path). then i used the copy options wizard to copy the macro toolbar only and pushed that reg file out to users.
the only downfall is that if i write any more macros, i have to do it all over again and push another reg file out.
i'd be interested to hear of other methods to do this.
