hallo,
i downaloaed the latest version 1.14.01 and compile the odreadex example and suse 9.1 and redhat (new installation in vmware).
by linking the binary i get several errors.
any idea ??? !!!
gcc version 3.2.2-5 .. ah.
your libs for gcc 3.4.3 ---
can you make libs for gcc 3.3 / 3.2 or ....

we will include a gcc 3.3 version in the next maintenance update, which should be available around the end of this month.

new to dwgdirect, looking for suggestions
hi. i'm new to dwgdirect and i'm looking for some tips on getting a development environment setup as easily as possible. my two requirements:
1) i'd like to start out with 1.14 and work my way towards the newer versions.
2) i must use linux.
is there anyone out there who has experience using the older (1.14) versions on linux with success?
i've done a little searching on the forum and it seems that there aren't very many people using the libraries on linux.
a couple of posts mention linking errors in building the demos. this is the problem i am having currently and i'm not sure how to resolve it. i know the version of gcc used is important, as is often the distro used. what distro(s) were used to create the 1.14 libraries available in the download area? is there any guide that outlines pitfalls in linking the dwgdirect libraries? if linking order is important, what should the order be?
i've seen changelogs mentioned a few times. where are the changelogs for older releases located? like i said i'm completely new to dwgdirect so any help or suggestions you can provide would be wonderful.
see the "general build guidelines" topic in our chm help file (available from ) for the correct link order to use for unix. change logs are available on this same page (release notes).
it would be easier to just use the latest 2.5 version rather than working forward starting from 1.14.
gcc 3.x (x86) libs are built on centos 4.6. gcc 4.x (x86) libs are built on opensuse 10.2.
