get uv coords ?
get uv coords ?
hello there !
i'm trying to figure out how to apply the textures on meshes in dd,
1) first i need to retrieve the texture coordinates, i read on this forum that the only solution was to use the xdata stuff at least in "old" versions of dd libraries, is it still the case ? (ie: is it still the only way ???).
anyway, is someone has some code or clear explanation how to retrieve this it would be really helpful to me ! :-) thanks !
2) how do you retrieve the textures ? actually, i'm using a gigeometrysimplifier+gsbasevectorizeview derived class to extract triangles for my scene and display this in a opengl engine... i tried to override the functions inittexture(), uninittexture() and rasterimageproc()... but they are never called ! what am i missing here ?
i'm also using the oddbentity::material() function to retrieve oddbmaterial, then i can access the ambient, diffuse, spec colors etc... and we have the diffuse oddbmaterialmap... this object may contain an image file name, okay. but it may also contain an oddbmaterialtexture which seems to be a complete unusable black box....
so what real solution do i have to extract texture information from a dwg ???
thanks for your help !
manu.
hi,
inittexture(), uninittexture() and rasterimageproc() are used for oddbrasterimage rendering only.
there is no oddbmaterialtexture in dd. there is odgimaterialtexture which is a abstract base class for a set of concrete classes (e.g. odgiimagefiletexture).
unfortunately, material rendering support is not implemented in gi and gs. when this part will be ready inittexture() and uninittexture() will became a part of it (as a particular task for material rendering engine). but you steel able to access oddbentity and its material information to implement textured material rendering in your gs.
see
oddbmaterial::diffuse(),
oddbmaterial::specular(),
oddbmaterial::reflection(),
oddbmaterial:

pacity(),
oddbmaterial::bump(),
oddbmaterial::refraction().
each of these functions has output parameter of type odgimaterialmap that completely describes appropriate map with its texture (e.g. path of an image) and mapping coordinates.
hello !
i already looked at the odgimaterialmap class : indeed it can be used to retrieve an image filename... sometimes ! correct me if i'm wrong but there are three types of texture in dwg files (checked odgimaterialmap::source() returned value): those read from files (ok), procedural textures (well, you cannot access them of course but you can access the parameters and generate the texture yourself, so it's still ok) and the misterious type corresponding to a "map is created from the current scene"... i thought this was something like an embedded raster image, but if you tell me it's not then it is possible to access this kind of texture information ?
