invalidating a region..

invalidating a region..
hi there
is there any function in dwg direct 1.11, which invalidates only required areas..
just like the functions in vc++
void invalidate( bool berase = true );
specifies whether the background within the update region is to be erased.
now its invalidating the entire view..
is there a function similar to cwnd::invalidate() in vc++..?
btw i'm using wingdi as the viewing device

i'm in need of the functionality the original poster requested. since the thread is 2 years old, has any changes been made to dwgdirect to allow invalidating only a requested area?

no. this feature is planned for 2.3 (1q of 2007).
