hi guys
the attached release 12 format drawing loads fine in autocad 2002 and 2007 without any errors yet if i try to open it in odamfcapp.exe for release 2.7.01, i get the following error: "loading error - invalid index". running recover() sorts the problem out.
why is dwg direct reporting an error when there is no error in autocad (audit and recovery found no errors) and also opendwg's very old version before dwg direct opens it fine?

founder member questions deserve at least the courtesy of an "i don't know" answer from oda.
the drawing contains a couple of entities referencing a layer absent in the drawing (with index 45).
autocad heals this problem silently setting layer to 0.
we prefer to inform about defects in the drawing.
our recover creates a new layer in this case.
