默认 brick veneer on sloped lintle

brick veneer on sloped lintle
i need to support some brick veneer over the top of my roof decking, and my roof decking is sloping at 3-1/2" to 12" approximately. can i slope the steel lintel that the brick sets on cutting each individual brick, or would the brick slide right down the slippery steel angle? the other alternative would be to put a bunch of 1' long angle segments to key the brick down in even block modules (more pieces and the architect doesn't like it as it makes his flashing extra tall). i've never come across this before, and just wondering what others have done.
check out our whitepaper library.
to prevent the sliding effect in the past i've specified 2"x2" steel "stops" welded at 24" o.c. vertically along the length of the sloped steel angle. we use to call this a brick climb detail.
you didn't say how high your veneer is nor what kind of backup you have.
if you have a masonry backup, it may be possible to hang the veneer off of the backup. the backup would need to be reinforced to take the applied bending moment. the support angle would need to be stepped up the slope. preferably, the supports would be below the sloping roof.
if you have wood backup, you could something similar, but depending on the code requirements may have to support the angle on steel posts in the wood stud wall.

the top of the veneer wall is 40 feet, and the top of the roof deck goes from 26' to 34 feet, so the brick is anywhere from 6' to 14' tall (approximately). we can either weld the steel lintel to a steel tube, or to the face of some steel studs depending on the conditions.
we did think about putting little clips on the angle, but were not sure how that would work with the masonry. do you make that clip like 3/8" or 1/2" so it fits in the mortar joint between blocks?
thanks for the replies, keep them coming.
mortar joints are typically 3/8". keeper plates should not exceed 5/16".
