florida building code and cable bracing
i have recently been informed that the florida building code (fbc) 2001 does not allow cable bracing to be used in the sidewalls of structures. is this true? and if so, can anyone point me to the section of the code where this is stated?
i always thought that the decision about cable bracing was left to the county or other governing body that had jurisdiction. please correct me if i am wrong.
i know that in high seismic regions, cable bracing is not reccomended because of the dynamic nature of seismic loading. would this be the same situation with high wind which is reversible but not nearly as cyclical as seismic.

in the high velocity hurricane zones (broward and dade counties), neither cable nor rods can be used in habitable buildings if they are constructed of cold-formed steel or metal building systems. ref: 2222.3.3 and 2223.10. i could not find any restriction outside of those two counties or for any other type of construction.
i found that section of the code myself. are you aware of how the code defines a "habitable" structure? this question is being asked in reference to an aircraft hangar. i don't consider a hangar to be a habitable structure but i don't know how the county will interprete this requirement.
