setting up a master template
just curious, do i have to set a template for sizes a, b and c sheets or is there a way to set a and then copy across to b and c. i need inches and mm on each side so it would be six templates in all. the original people here have dozens all over the server and i want to standardize it.
what i did is create the title block and all other related info around it. created all dwg sizes, then copy/paste the title block info among each one. save the templates on the server in one place.
in solidworks, go to "tools/options/system options/file locations", go to drop down "show folders for" and select 'document templates'. select 'add' and browse to the server location where the templates are located.
select ok.
follow same steps, except go to tools/options/system options/default templates". change 'drawings' and browse to one of the standard templates used the most.
same setting for all users. you could use copy settings wizard and have each user use these settings, or use an admin image.
