sw vba to vb.net
hi all,
just wondering if anyone can shed some light into how i should go about importing a previous sw vba project into vb.net.
so far i have done the following.
i exported all forms, modules and classes from the sw macro. i tried opening one of the forms in a new vb.net project but the form does not show in the form designer.
i imported all the forms, modules and classes into vb6 to create a new project. that seemed to go okay except that the forms come in as designer forms and so have reduced settings/options in the properties. i can import this project into vb.net but as expected i get alot of errors because of the changes in code structure.
i always knew i would have to redo alot of the actual subs and functions, etc but is there any way to get the forms to load into vs.net. when importing can the old controls be automatically replaced with the newer .net ones. or do i basically have to redo the whole form layout/gui from scratch.

i have not yet started using .net but i will soon. i was just reading about visual studio standard/proffesional/xpress to determine which version i need. as far as i can see the standard and proffesional package includes conversion functionality for old .net and vb6 applications, look at
i have transferred a couple projects from vb6 to vb.net and i don't remember having problems with the forms from vb6 to net. i tried importing the vba forms into vb6 but i couldn't modify them after they were imported so i always made new forms. i really doubt that the designer forms will transfer to net.
