【转帖】he Dimension Text Scale In Block
the dimension text scale in block
the dimension text scale in block
i upgraded dd from dd1.11.01 for vc6 to dd1.14.02 for .net2003 in my application. the size of the texts in the dimensions is different from each other. i attatched two dwg files here, dd1.11.01.dwg is made by dd1.11.01 for vc6, dd1.14.02.dwg is made by dd1.14.02 for .net2003. open them in autocad, you can see all the dimension texts in dd1.11.01.dwg are the same size even the blocks have different scales, but the dimension texts in dd1.14.02.dwg have different size. i used recomputedimblock module to recompute dimensions.
what is the problem?
any help appreciated
attached files
it was bug in dwgdirect 1.11. it was fixed later.
best regards,
sergey z.
do you mean the result got from dd1.14.02 is right? but actually i need the result like got from dd.1.11.

yes. in any case if you change block scale (for example acad) the text size is changed too the same way as any entity in this block.
in case you have one insert block you can calculate suitable text height (or dimension scale). but other insert this block with difference scale (for block) will have other text size. text height for mtext entity (in dimension block)stay constant and isn't depend of block scale.

hi,
thanks for your help.
in your reply, you said "text height for mtext entity (in dimension block)stay constant and isn't depend of block scale.". but if you open the uploaded file dd1.14.02.dwg file in autocad and change the scale in its properties page, you can see the dimension texts change. is it right?(in this file, there is only one block reference)
there several data are releatived to the size of dimension text: dimtxt and dimscale variables in the dimension entity and its dimension style.
the following is my pseudocode for exporting dimensions:
exporting dimension style:
oddbdimstyletablerecordptr pdimstyle = ...;
pdimstyle->setdimscale( scale1 );
pdimstyle->setdimtxt( height1 );
exporting dimension entity:
oddbdimensionptr pdim = ...;
pdim->setdimscale( scale2 );
pdim->setdimtxt( height2 );
how does dd recompute the dimension text size?

it is right. property mtext height is stay constant. it is like then you use zoom.
about only one block reference...it is only method make your text size suitable. in any case if you change block scale view text size (not property height) is changed too. the property mtexts height is difference in dd1.11.01.dwg so text is rendered by the same size.

how does dd recompute the dimension text size?
acad reference:
"dimtxt - specifies the height of dimension text, unless the current text style has a fixed height."
in other word text style height has priority(if it isn't zero). in other case dd recompute (and acad) uses dimension text height (if it was set as in your example) and the last it is used the dimension style text height.

hi,
then the dimension text height when rendering is the product of text height in its text style and the block scale. is it right?
thanks
