sw vb addin template & vb express 2008
i have solidworks 2009 sp 2.1 installed and vb express 2008. i wish to create an addin for sw but when i try to open the solidworks addin from the templates i get the following error.
error: this template attempted to load an untrusted component 'solidworkstools, version=1.0.0.1, culture=neutral, publickey token=bd18593873b4686d'. for more information on this problem and how to enable this template, please see documentation on customizing project
templates.
i did find a refernce to this error w/ vb express 2005 that stated the fix as dragging the file solidworkstools.dll to the c:\windows\assembly folder to register the dll with the "global assembly trust". i tried this with no change.
has anyone been able to work with this template in vb express?

the last version of vbe was limited and could not create add-ins. you might want to verify that vbe2008 removed this limitation before going too far down that road.

there is no limit with vbe2k8 other than it does not have an auto-com register function you have to do it manually using regasm

i am now able to open the template in vbe 2008. i will soon see if i am able to make the addin. it does look like the express version does have that limitation.
