file size problem
file size problem
hi,
while saving dwg files in different version (autocad 2004, autocad 2007, r12,r13, etc), increasing file size very much in some version and decreasing file size in some version.
i don't know how it is happening ?.
how we can save a dwg file with enabling thumb nail feature ?.

hi,
it is ok. some entities should be converted to something before saving to lower versions. also last autocad versions have some additional 'defaults' - dictionaries\variables. so savig from lower to upper can increase file size too. in any way the simplest check for file size is saving newly created file to different versions.

hi,
i am working with 2000 version autocad file. its file szie is 37 kb. using autocad 2008, saving this file to 2007 version , then file size is changed to 61 kb.
but using oda , file size is changed to 42 kb only. is any data lose ?.

i am sending dwg files. please verify its size.
greenline.dwg (2000 format) --- original file
autocad2007.dwg ---- save from autocad 2007
oda2007.dwg --- save using oda libraries
oda2000.dwg -saving greenline.dwg (2000 fromat) as 2000 version using oda, its size is larger.

hi,
i didn't find any defects. toolkit file doesn't containe some dictionaries, but they will be created by autocad at loading time. also i have loaded both 2007 files to autocad and call purge all command - new file sizes are 83.6 & 83.5 kb.
btw : autocad and mfcapp sample has audit\recove functionality. both application didn't report any errors for your files. so files are valid.
