【转帖】how to select entities, starting from oddbdatabase pointer 9
how to select entities, starting from oddbdatabase pointer (
how to select entities, starting from oddbdatabase pointer (current open file)
hello!
i try to select some entities on the screen from a drxsdk_2.04 dll application. i'm a beginner with drx sdk and i do not know how to do that. from my application host i can retrieve current active document ?oddbdatabase pointer.
using old com style from application i can get current document, from it i get active selectionset and using selectonscreen i can select some entities on the screen. brief desprition is below. .
ccomqiptr<iicadapplication> app;
ccomptr< iicaddocument> document;
app->get_activedocument(&document)
ccomptr<iicadselectionset> selectionset;
document->get_activeselectionset( &selectionset );
selectionset->selectonscreen(variant,variant);
i ask how to do but using drx, not com. as i already said i have current document. using it i try:
oddbselectionsetptr pselect = oddbselectionset::select(pdb); //where pdb is my current document.
but nothing seems to happened. more than that: how can i prompt some text on command line host , for example : 搒elect entities?at the moment of selection?
ps: i have no sdk example, only excustobjs project which use extensive odedcommandcontext* pcmdctx like below
....
oddbcommandcontextptr pdbcmdctx(pcmdctx);
oddbuserio* pio = pdbcmdctx->dbuserio();
oddbselectionsetptr psset = pio->select( dd_t("select curve to extend") );
.....
i do not want to use this way for selection (using odedcommandcontext pointer) , but some way derivated from possible document/view(?) members function, like com scenario.
kind regards!

method used in excustobj sample provides drx portability. the drx will work with all dwgdirect based container applications (assuming they implement required interfaces).
i you want to use intellicad specific classes/methods/interfaces than you'd better ask intellicad developers.

i do not want a specific intellicad method, but an usual drx way to select entities on the screen.
as i already said i've tried:
oddbselectionsetptr pselect = oddbselectionset::select(pdb); //where pdb is my current document.
it does not work..
any ideaa?
kind regards!

using oddbselectionset::select directly is not "usual way", it is rather advanced way.
what's wrong with oddbuserio::select?
there is an example of direct selection with oddbselectionset::select in examples\excustobjs\drxdebugcmds.cpp,4057 (_selectbylayer_func)
if you want user interaction, then you will need userio anyway.

oddbuserio seems to be perfect choice but i got a problem:
as i can see from drxsdk_2.04 excustobjs project, to create an oddbuserio pointer, an odedcommandcontext pointer is necessary as below:
void _exselection_func(odedcommandcontext* pcmdctx)
{
.....
oddbcommandcontextptr pdbcmdctx(pcmdctx);
oddbuserio* pio = pdbcmdctx->dbuserio();
oddbselectionsetptr psset = pio->select( dd_t("select curve to extend") );
...
}
my host application cannot offer me this pointer (odedcommandcontext* pcmdctx) in order to finally construct what i need for selection, the oddbuserio pointer.all i can get from host application is the current document.
does exist some workaround ?
i repeat, i do not have any other oda sdx example to inspire me.
any idea really appreciate!
kind regards!

what you call 'document' is actually a database. at this level, there is no screen, no user interaction, nothing but a set of objects.
you may ask icad developers how to obtain command context, or, if the code is not executed in the context of a command, how to perform selection.
perhaps you may explain what are you trying to do, more explicitly?
vladimir
thank you for your time wvk!
you put the problem exactly how i want. i would like to ask user, at some moment to select some screen entities, but not in the context of a command!
i will ask again icad host app developers again about this, anyway the picture now is more clear
kind regards!
