meaning of width factor of text
hai,
what is the meaning of the width factor.while i saw the help of autodesk it describes as specifies the expansion or compression of the characters.
but i still need clear meaning.while defnining the text,we have to set width and height of the character and character spacing between two characters.
in autocad width-factor controls the character spacing and width of the character.but i could not realize how it controls(how it calculate the spacing between the characters).widthfactor is defined in oddbtext class.

width factor is scale text by horizontal. so such character property as width and last position (spacing between the characters) are changed with according width factor.

hai, thanks lot for your reply.
yes i understood,while changing the width factor,it changes the width and spacing between characters.this is understood while working in autocad gui.but how it changes.is it just ratio between character width and spacing between characters.but, if you change character height,spacing between character will be also differed for same width factor.i felt like there is a definte relationship(formula) among character width, height and spacing between chatacters.my intension of query was that knowing the definte relationship.
actually i am working in translator(between autocad and our software).i am able to retrieve values of height, width and spacing between the characters from our software.but wothout knowing the meaning/relationship between height,width and spacing, i could not write into autocad.i hope you might have understand my problem/query.

i think there is no such formula unfortunately (at least i don't no one).

possible the export/import code will help you. see projects in folder "exports".
