want to retrieve value from database on card
hi
i hav a template named enquiry. this template have many fields like enquiry no, compname,info,place etc. i use this template and save values in database.
again i have a card with many field including enquiry no,compname, info, place.
here i face the problem because i want that when i click on a certain enquiry no from the combobox, the related field compname,info and place will display automatically in their readonly text boxes.
how can i do this?

this "card" you talk about - what is it? is it a card in your database, is it a vb form or something else? please supply a little more information about your setup including a screenshot to make us better understand your case.

the card that i used is taken from pdmwork enterprises card editor. and work as template.
this template named xyz hav some fields common that present in main template enquiry.
i want that if i select enquiry no in xyz template its releted value like compname , info , place will automatically come in their specify read only text boxes.
my problem is how i use sql query or api to retrieve this releted information from database to show on xyz.ctf

dear all,
im explaining the problem again,
" i have two different lifecycles. 1. enquiry & 2. npd.
there are two different input and folder cards for enquiry & npd.
i have generated new enquiry (enquiry no:ex001) and fill the fields in input form.
as example fields in inquiry input form: {customer name, enquiry date, due date, enquiry author, comments, etc}.
now in npd input form fileds are {ref. enquiry no, + all fileds mentioned in enquiry input form. } ref. enquiry no filed is in dropdown and available all the updated enquiriy no's are available.
now requirement is: while im generating the new npd. in npd input form when i select the ref. enquiry no: ex001, then rest of the fileds should come filled automatically like customer name, enquiry date, due date, enquiry author, comments, etc.)
how the api will be written for that.
